Once the referral is processed, the patient receives a questionnaire. The questions cover general history, history, family history, medication and severity of menopause symptoms.
This is followed by a 45-minute digital consultation with one of our menopause nurses. Exploring and analyzing the pattern of symptoms requires specific expertise and extra time. The goal is to take a comprehensive look at the problem and educate the patient about menopause. During this consultation, the patient already receives initial advice on treatment and lifestyle to reduce menopause symptoms.
This is followed by a 30-minute digital consultation with a gynecologist with specific knowledge and experience regarding menopause problems. The gynecologist discusses the symptoms and draws up a treatment plan. If necessary, the patient will receive a easy to use do-it-yourself kit for blood sample collection. For more complex problems, the gynecologist will refer the patient to specialized centers.
The patient receives a digital follow-up consultation with the menopause nurse. The gynecologist monitors progress.
If the treatment is successful, the patient receives an evaluation form. The gynecologist then sends a message to the family physician (huisarts) to conclude the treatment.
In the case of unsuccessful treatment, a personalized care pathway follows depending on the patient's needs.
